Aurubis AG operates one of Europe’s largest copper production facilities in Hamburg. Across a 1 km² site and continuous 24/7 operations, production teams rely on fast access to accurate operational information to maintain safety, efficiency, and process stability.
To strengthen visibility and structure across daily operations, Aurubis introduced EviView’s Digital Shopfloor Management platform.
The operational challenge
Operational information spread across multiple sources
Production updates, action lists, and reports were maintained in large numbers of Excel files across departments. This required manual consolidation and made it difficult to maintain a consistent operational overview.
Shift handovers lacked standardization
Teams relied on printed logs and local documentation practices. Important updates were not always captured in a structured or easily traceable way.
Limited visibility across operational systems
Critical systems such as SAP PM, PI, MES, and LIMS contained valuable operational data, but the information was accessed separately and not presented in a unified view for shopfloor teams.
Increasing documentation requirements
Operational reporting and audit documentation required structured records and traceability, which was difficult to maintain across fragmented tools and manual processes.
The solution
Aurubis implemented EviView to introduce a structured digital layer for daily shopfloor management.
The platform supports digital shift handovers, integrates operational data from existing systems, and provides a centralized environment for task tracking, reporting, and operational documentation. Teams can access relevant production and maintenance information in one place while maintaining traceable records for compliance and reporting.
The system is now deployed across production areas at the Hamburg site and provides a scalable foundation for wider adoption across Aurubis operations.
